Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information under British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other Canadian privacy law.

In force from: 2026-10-31

Who we are

Hype Unique Gallery Ltd., at 41 Example Street, Kelowna, BC Z0Z 0Z0, Business Number 000000000, GST/HST account 000000000 RT 0001, QST number 0000000000 TQ 0001, PST number PST-0000-0000 (hereinafter "we") sets out in this policy the manner in which we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal information relating to customers, individuals who reach out to us and visitors to this website.

Laws that apply

As a private-sector organization in British Columbia, we follow British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). Where personal information is transferred across provincial or national boundaries in the course of commercial activity, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) may also be applicable. Our commercial electronic messages follow Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). If these laws are amended or replaced, we will update this policy.

What we collect

  • Contact details – name, phone number, email address and, for invoices, mailing address.
  • The content of your enquiry and any details you provide about the service you need.
  • Billing details – business name, address and tax numbers, if you request an invoice.
  • Payment information – processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Website data – server logs (IP address, browser type, date and time) for security, and, with your consent only, analytics data (see Cookies below).

We collect only what is reasonable for these purposes and we do not sell personal information.

Why we use it

  • To respond to enquiries, prepare estimates and contact you about the service.
  • To carry out and document the service, handle complaints and honour warranties.
  • To keep accounting and tax records required by law.
  • To send service reminders and offers – only with your express consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Consent

We rely on your consent, which may be express (for example ticking a box on the form) or implied where the purpose is obvious – such as using your phone number to reply to your enquiry. You may withdraw consent upon reasonable notice, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; we will inform you of the likely consequences of doing so.

Marketing emails (CASL)

We send commercial electronic messages such as offers only if you have given express consent – for example by ticking the optional box on our form – or where CASL allows implied consent based on an existing business relationship. Every such message identifies Hype Unique Gallery, includes our mailing address and contains a functioning unsubscribe link. We process unsubscribe requests within 10 business days.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as needed:

  • with suppliers and specialist subcontractors, to complete the service you asked for;
  • with service providers who host our website, email and accounting tools – some are located outside Canada (for example in the United States), so your information may be accessible to authorities there under their laws;
  • with government or law-enforcement bodies where the law requires or allows it.

Cookies and analytics

Strictly necessary storage remembers your cookie choice in your browser's local storage. Google Consent Mode v2 is set to “denied” by default, so no analytics or advertising cookies are set until you choose. You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Further details are provided in our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep it

We retain records for the duration of the customer relationship and for up to seven years thereafter for tax and warranty purposes; enquiries that do not result in a visit are deleted within 12 months. Information that is no longer required is destroyed or anonymised.

How we protect it

We apply reasonable security safeguards: access is restricted to staff who require it, systems are password-protected, and paper and digital records are disposed of securely. If a privacy breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia as required by law.

Your rights

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you and to correct it if it is inaccurate. We respond within 30 business days, as PIPA requires. There is no charge for most requests.

Privacy contact and complaints

Our privacy contact is reachable by email at contact@hypeuniquegallery.com. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia (OIPC BC), which is responsible for overseeing British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) – www.oipc.bc.ca; or, where PIPEDA applies, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) – www.priv.gc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy from time to time, for example in response to changes in the law or in the tools we use. The version currently in force is always available on this page, with the effective date indicated at the top.
