For collectors who prefer a quieter, more personal experience, we offer private showroom viewings outside regular gallery hours. You will have the full space to yourself, with a Hartwell family member on hand to discuss provenance, artist background, and how a piece might work in your home. We can also pull works from our off-site storage or arrange a studio visit with the artist directly. There is no obligation to purchase.

Not every collector wants to browse alongside strangers or feel the clock ticking. A private viewing turns the gallery into your own personal space — quiet enough to sit with a painting, ask every question that comes to mind, and simply notice how a work makes you feel.
From the moment you arrive, a member of the Hartwell family is with you. They know the stories behind the pieces on the walls, the artists who made them, and the kinds of homes and lives those works tend to find their way into. That knowledge is yours for the duration of your visit, without any obligation attached.

What happens during your visit
Your viewing lasts up to ninety minutes and begins with a short conversation about what has drawn you in — a particular artist, a colour palette, a feeling you want a room to have. From there, your guide moves through the gallery with you, pulling works forward, discussing provenance and artist background, and helping you see each piece in relation to your own space.
If something you have in mind is not currently on the gallery floor, we can arrange access to off-site inventory with forty-eight hours' notice. We can also coordinate a studio visit directly with the artist, so you can hear the story of a work from the person who made it. Complimentary refreshments are provided throughout.
Bringing art to your home instead
Sometimes the only way to know whether a work belongs in your home is to see it there. Our home consultation service extends the private viewing experience to your own walls, covering locations within sixty kilometres of Kelowna. We bring a selection of up to six works for you to try in situ, so you can judge scale, light, and feeling in the room where the piece will actually live.
The consultation fee for a home visit is applied as a credit toward any purchase made within thirty days, making it a practical step rather than an added cost. Fees vary depending on distance from Kelowna, and the details are easy to discuss when you book.
Lay-away and payment plans
A work you love should not have to wait simply because the timing is not perfect. During your private viewing, we are happy to discuss lay-away arrangements and payment plans that let you secure a piece while spreading the cost over time. There is no pressure to raise the subject — but it is always on the table if it would help.

How to book your private viewing
We ask for at least forty-eight hours' notice so we can prepare the space and, where needed, retrieve specific works from storage. Evening and Sunday viewings are available by special arrangement, because we know that weekday afternoons do not suit everyone.
To book, simply get in touch with us directly. Tell us roughly what you are interested in — or tell us nothing at all and arrive with an open mind. Either way, you will have the gallery, the art, and a knowledgeable family member entirely to yourself, with no obligation to purchase anything at the end of it.
