Art Consultation & Curation
Choosing art for your home or workplace should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Hype Unique Gallery's consultation and curation service takes you from blank wall to finished room, with a gallery team member guiding every step and a twelve-month exchange option giving you lasting confidence in the result.

Service description
Choosing art for a space can feel overwhelming. Our consultation service pairs you with a gallery team member who listens first — to your taste, your architecture, your budget — and then presents a curated shortlist drawn from our gallery inventory and our network of regional artists. We handle everything from selection to installation, and we stand behind every recommendation with our satisfaction promise.
Why art selection feels hard — and how we help
A room full of possibilities can quickly become paralysing. Scale, colour, framing, lighting, the mood you want to create — each variable multiplies the others, and most people simply do not have a framework for weighing them all at once. That is exactly the gap our consultation service is designed to close.
We begin by listening, not presenting. A sixty-minute needs assessment — held in the studio or on-site at your space — gives us a clear picture of your taste, your architecture, and your budget before a single work is suggested. Everything that follows is built on what we learn in that first conversation.
Who the service is designed for
Homeowners refreshing a single room, families moving into a new house, and businesses fitting out an office or hospitality space all use this service for the same reason: they want art that genuinely belongs in the space rather than art that merely fills it. The scale of the project does not matter — we offer single-room residential consultations as well as whole-home and commercial projects.
The service is also well suited to anyone who has a sense of what they love but struggles to translate that feeling into a specific purchase. Our team has spent decades matching people with works they go on to treasure, and that experience is the core of what you are engaging when you book a consultation.
From assessment to installation: how the process works
After the initial assessment, we prepare a curated shortlist of between eight and fifteen works drawn from our gallery inventory and our network of regional artists. We also produce digital mock-ups showing each work in your actual space, so you can evaluate scale and composition before anything leaves the gallery.
Once you have made your selections, we coordinate any framing requirements with our in-house studio and arrange professional installation by our own team. The entire process, from assessment to finished installation, typically takes between one and three weeks. At every stage you have a single point of contact who knows your project from the beginning.
The twelve-month exchange option
Even the most carefully chosen work occasionally turns out to feel different once it has lived on your wall for a season. Our twelve-month exchange option means that a purchased work can be swapped for another from our inventory within that period, giving you a genuine safety net rather than a sales pitch.
This policy reflects the way Hype Unique Gallery has always worked — as a long-term partner in building a collection, not a one-time transaction. Three generations of Kelowna families have returned to us precisely because they know that our interest in their satisfaction does not end at the point of sale.
How the consultation fee works
The consultation fee is applied in full as a credit toward any artwork purchased within sixty days of your assessment. If you decide not to purchase, the fee covers our team's time and the digital mock-ups prepared specifically for your space — both of which have real value regardless of whether a sale follows.
Fees are structured by project scope: a single-room residential consultation, a whole-home project, and commercial or hospitality commissions each carry a different rate. Installation is available as a separate service and covers up to ten pieces per visit. All figures are straightforward to discuss when you make an enquiry.
Working within your budget
We ask you to share your budget at the outset, and we hold to it. Our curated shortlist will only ever include works within the range you have set, and we do not present options that require you to stretch beyond what you have decided is right. If a work you already admire is by an artist in our network, we will do our best to source it — and we are transparent about what is and is not achievable.
For collectors who want to acquire gradually, lay-away and payment plan options are available. Building a collection over time, room by room and year by year, is something Kelowna families have been doing with us since the studio first opened its doors.

Frequently asked questions
Is the consultation fee refunded if I buy something?
Yes. The full consultation fee is applied as a credit toward any artwork purchased within 60 days of your assessment. If you buy nothing, the fee covers our team's time and the digital mock-ups we prepare for you.
Do you work with a fixed budget?
Absolutely. Tell us your budget at the outset and we will only present works within that range. We never pressure clients to exceed what they have set.
Can you source work by a specific artist I already admire?
If the artist is in our network or represented by a gallery we have a relationship with, we will do our best to source the work. We are transparent about what is and is not possible, and we do not charge a sourcing fee unless significant travel or shipping is involved.
